In a White House press release named “More Investment, More Jobs, and More Money in Americans’ Pockets,” South Korea-based Hyundai has revealed it will work with President Donald Trump to invest as much as $20 billion in the United States.
The press release read, “Today, Hyundai announced a $20 billion investment in the United States — including $5.8 billion for a new steel plant in Louisiana, which will create nearly 1,500 jobs.”
Hyundai’s investment reportedly aims to build on its earlier commitment to “further localize production in the US,” the White House stated, adding, “It’s further proof that President Trump’s economic agenda is working.”
In a White House announcement, Hyundai Chairman Euisun Chung stated that the investment was the company’s largest ever in the U.S.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt took to X stating: “More investments, more jobs, and more money in the pockets of hardworking Americans – all thanks to President Trump’s economic policies.”
Earlier this year, Hyundai Motor’s CEO José Muñoz stated, “the best way for [Hyundai] to navigate tariffs is to increase localization.”
