In a disturbing move, Alphabet Inc (GOOGL.O) on Wednesday cautioned it own employees on the potential dangers of using chatbots, including its own Bard, which the company is marketing around the world.
Citing long-standing policies aimed at protecting internal corporate secrets and avoiding data leaks, the Google parent advised it workers not to enter confidential materials into AI chatbots such as Bard and ChatGPT.
Alphabet also warned its engineers to avoid any direct use of computer codes that chatbots might generate.
Alphabet’s apparent concerns over its own artificial intelligence technology is providing fresh fodder for AI phobics as Google is accelerating its race against comparable Microsoft Corp (MSFT.O) programs.
