The U.S. national average for regular gas reached $3.85 per gallon on Monday, revealed the American Automobile Association.
This marks the highest national average gas price since October 19, 2022.
The hikes stem from heat waves disrupting the output of U.S. refineries and Russia and Saudi Arabia cutting supply, causing oil prices to rise in turn.
AAA went on to reveal that 11 U.S. states are currently averaging regular gas prices of over $4 per gallon.
