U.S. furniture retail chain Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams is closing down, the company told the North Carolina Department of Commerce over the weekend.
According to Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams, the retailer’s closure comes due to declining sales and poor financing.
“We have also recently and unexpectedly learned that the company is unable to secure critical financing to continue business operations,” interim CEO Chris Moye told the Department of Commerce.
Approximately 500 Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams staff based in North Carolina will lose employment as the company shutters its doors.
