The Biden administration’s signature Inflation Reduction Act has to date resulted in more than $780 million in investment in 4700 clean energy projects, according to the US Department of Agriculture. This investment is largely directed towards increasing the availability of domestic biofuels.
“The Biden-Harris Administration is lowering costs for rural Americans and giving people in rural areas the historic opportunity to expand clean energy and build an economy that benefits working families and small businesses,” Secretary Vilsack said. “By expanding access to homegrown biofuels and clean energy systems, we are strengthening our energy independence, addressing the impacts of climate change and creating new market opportunities and revenue streams for American producers while bringing good-paying jobs in rural communities.”
These grants enable rural companies to install storage tanks for biodiesel, fuel dispenses and solar arrays among other clean energy initiatives.
Of this investment more than $180 million has been in 200 projects to increase availability of domestic biofuels.
Thes einvestment form part of a total of $2.2 billion of investment by the USDA in renewable enrgy and energy efficiency improvements by the US Department of Agricultural as the country attempts to reduce emissions from the countryside.
