Today’s strike will involve over 5,000 workers, according to Starbucks Workers United. The five-day work stoppage will end in the evening today.
Today’s action, labeled “Merry Strikemas” by the Union, is ” is the biggest ULP strike at Starbucks EVER! Starbucks Baristas at over THREE HUNDRED stores have walked off the job to demand Starbucks bargain a fair contract from coast-to-coast.” according to a Starbucks Workers United post this morning on X.
Another Union post on X stated, “Union baristas are calling on EVERYONE to NOT buy from ANY Starbucks store during the duration of our ULP strikes.”
The Workers Union stated that they are willing to enter discussions to end the strikes however, Starbucks has not presented workers with “a serious economic proposal.”
“We are ready to continue negotiations when the union comes back to the bargaining table,” a Starbucks spokesperson said today.
