Anthropic PBC has reportedly reached a $35 billion agreement with Lambda, a cloud services provider supported by Nvidia Corp, as part of its rapid expansion of AI capabilities.
The project, being developed in Nueces County by AI data center company Hut 8 , has a capacity of about 350 megawatts.
Lambda is reportedly in negotiations to raise up to $3 billion, with discussions considering a valuation as high as $12 billion.
The Lambda deal will bring online Nvidia capacity to meet growing demand for Anthropic’s Claude AI.
This deal is the most recent AI computing agreement involving Nvidia, following the company’s investment to expand access to computing infrastructure, likely boosting demand for its technology.
The company agreed last week to spend $45 billion to rent capacity from Nscale in West Virginia.
In recent months, Anthropic has also signed cloud deals for $50 billion with Neocloud Fluidstack Ltd. and $45 billion with Elon Musk’s SpaceX.
Shares of Hut 8 Corp. jumped nearly 5% after reports of the deal emerged.
