European supermarket giant Aldi is expanding its U.S. foothold with its purchase of 400 Winn-Dixie and Harvey locations.
The move will see Aldi’s presence increase significantly across the American southeast, where Winn-Dixie and Harvey were once prominent.
Approximately 300 of the acquired locations are reportedly based out of Florida, while the remaining 100-odd stores are spread across Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi and Louisiana.
The deal, which is pending regulatory approval, is expected to close in 2024.
