Airbus SE is rumored to be in talks with budget airline Grupo Viva Aerobus SAB economy airline for the sale of large narrow-body crafts to help spur the Mexican carrier’s expansion plans.
If all goes well, the deal, which could include the purchase of 100 new planes, is expected to be announced Monday at the start of the Paris Air Show.
Asked about the deal, both Airbus and Viva refused to comment.
With a current fleet 70 Airbus aircraft, including both A320 and A321 models, Viva is the youngest carrier in Mexico, with one of the most up-to-date lineups of planes in North America.
