According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, expired at-home Covid-19 testing kits may still be put to good use.
As the primary rule to determine if a test is still viable for use, the FDA has released a webpage with expiration guidance for updated expiration information corresponding to each major test brand.
With new variants emerging throughout the U.S. as the fall season approaches, make sure to consult with FDA guidance before throwing your seemingly expired kits in the trash.
However, if the expiration date has still not changed on the FDA’s website, it may be best to hold off from using an expired kit.
