Late Monday, billionaire Elon Musk announced that his space exploration company SpaceX should receive clearance for the second launch attempt of its Starship rocket this week.
Starship’s secondary launch attempt has been pending approval by the Federal Aviation Administration and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service as it conducted an environmental impact review.
“Was just informed that approval to launch should happen in time for a Friday launch,” Musk said in a social media post.
Starship’s first launch in April, while breaking multiple aeronautics records, exploded soon after launch and caused widespread damage to the surrounding area.
