The Saturday matchup between the Green Bay Packers and the San Francisco 49ers brought Fox Sports 37.5 million viewers on average during the game, with a peak of 40.9 million viewers.
The 49ers’ 24-21 win saw a 31% increase in viewers compared with the New York Giants and Philadelphia Eagles game in the same time slot last year.
This marks the highest turnout for Saturday TV on a network in 30 years, according to Nielsen, following the 1994 Lillehammer Winter Olympics, which aired on CBS.
The Packers have played in three of the four most-viewed games of this season, including the Thanksgiving game against the Detroit Lions that brought in 33.70 million viewers.
