On Tuesday, Walgreens Boots Alliance announced it has chosen experienced healthcare executive Tim Wentworth as its new CEO.
Wentworth previously headed Cigna, the largest pharmacy benefits management company in the United States.
The former Cigna CEO is set to begin his post on Oct. 23.
“What made me decide to come back was a chance to lead this iconic brand and company at a time when it’s not in a steady state,” said Wentworth. “It’s a massive platform… they touch almost 10 million people a day.”
