On Saturday, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration warned consumers of possible bacterial contamination of Reckitt/Mead Johnson’s Nutramigen Hypoallergenic Powdered Infant Formula Products.
According to the FDA, the Israeli Ministry of Health detected Cronobacter sakazakii bacteria in exported versions of the formula.
As a result of the findings, Reckitt/Mead Johnson voluntarily issued a recall for 675,030 cans of the non-dairy formula.
“All product in question went through extensive testing and tested negative for the bacteria,” said Reckitt/Mead Johnson in a statement.
