On Thursday, portable blender company BlendJet announced the recall of 4.8 million units of its popular BlendJet 2 Portable Blenders due to safety hazards.
According to federal regulators, the blenders in question may have defective blades that could break off during use, and may also overheat or catch fire.
BlendJet has reportedly received 49 claims of minor burn injuries from the product and 329 reports of broken blades to date.
“Out of an abundance of caution, our company updated the base of the BlendJet 2 to feature thicker blades and an improved electrical configuration,” BlendJet said in a statement Thursday.
