On Monday, The Arena Group announced that it fired its CEO following public backlash surrounding Sports Illustrated’s alleged use of artificial intelligence in its online articles.
Ross Levinsohn, who served as The Arena Group’s CEO for three years, was replaced by 5-hour Energy founder Manoj Bhargava as the company’s interim CEO.
“All of the media brands, including Sports Illustrated, will continue to operate with the management of those verticals, while the company just takes a broad view of operations and how to improve the business overall,” said Bhargava’s spokesperson, Vince Bodiford.
The Arena Group previously fired operations president and COO, corporate counsel Julie Fenster and media president Rob Barrett the week prior.
