The legendary Jeff Bezos announced his departure from the multinational giant Amazon Web Services, an enterprise he founded 27 years ago.
The company announced that Andy Jassy will occupy the position of CEO from the third quarter of the year and Bezos will become Executive Chairman.
In a statement to his employees, Bezos said he has made this decision to focus on other businesses and initiatives, including the Bezos Climate Fund, The Washington Post, and his aerospace company. He added in the statement to his workers that “we have done crazy things together and then made them normal.”
Following this statement, he listed a series of innovations created by the company such as “Customer reviews, 1-Click, personalized recommendations, Prime’s insanely-fast shipping, the Climate Pledge, Kindle, Alexa, marketplace, infrastructure cloud computing, Career Choice, and much more.”
Is expected that Bezos will continue to play an important role with Amazon.
