On Thursday, automakers Kia, Hyundai and Genesis announced they would be adding Tesla-style charging ports to their electric vehicles sold to the U.S. market beginning in Q4 2024.
The move will allow drivers to use Tesla chargers – which are the most prominent charging stations across the United States – on their vehicles.
The three automakers, when combined, currently stand as the second best-selling EV vehicles behind Tesla.
Kia, Hyundai and Genesis now join Honda, Ford, Mercedes-Benz and other car brands in their adoption of Tesla’s North American Charging Standard.
