The Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists announced that it had struck a tentative deal with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers late Wednesday evening, ending SAG-AFTRA’s nearly fourth month strike.
According to SAG-AFTRA President Fran Drescher, the deal is “historic” and “represents a new paradigm.”
The deal purportedly includes significant pay minimum raises, streaming participation bonuses and protections for actors against artificial intelligence.
SAG-AFTRA officially ended the strike at midnight Thursday, though the deal remains to be ratified by the union’s members.
