On Friday, health care operator Kaiser Permanente reached a tentative deal with the coalition of unions representing approximately 75,000 of the company’s workers.
The deal comes just days after unionized workers staged the largest health care strike in U.S. history.
According to union representatives, Kaiser Permanente agreed to raise staffers’ wages by 21% over four years and create a new minimum wage threshold for its employees.
“The frontline healthcare workers of the Coalition of Kaiser Permanente Unions are excited to have reached a tentative agreement with Kaiser Permanente,” the unions said on social media. “We are thankful for the instrumental support of Acting US Labor Secretary Julie Su.”
