On Thursday, members of the United Auto Workers labor union voted to ratify the union’s historic deal with U.S. automaking giant General Motors.
The deal was passed with 54.7% of the UAW’s approximately 36,000 GM workers voting in favor.
Thursday’s ratification comes after the deal looked to be in potential jeopardy earlier this week after seven of GM’s 11 U.S. assembly plants voted against the agreement.
Meanwhile, voting on the union’s tentative contracts with automakers Stellantis and Ford is still ongoing.
