On Wednesday, technology giant Google announced it will be laying off hundreds of staffers involved in hiring and recruiting new employees to the company.
Google’s parent company previously fired 6% of its workforce back in January as part of its cost-saving measures.
“We continue to invest in top engineering and technical talent while also meaningfully slowing the pace of our overall hiring,” Google spokesperson Courtenay Mencini said Wednesday.
However, Google made sure to note the slashes to its recruitment division were not indicative of any upcoming company-wide cuts.
