The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) approved SpacX’s Falcon 9 rocket for launch this Monday in a communiqué this Sunday.
“The SpaceX Falcon 9 vehicle is authorized to return to flight only for the planned Hera mission scheduled to launch on Oct. 7 from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida,” the FAA said on Sunday.
The lack of a permit had caused SpaceX-owner, billionair Elon Musk, to criticize the FAA sharply on twitter over the course of the week, calling for the resignation of agency head Mike Whitaker.
Monday’s launch will see the rocket being used to carry the European Space Agency’s Hera spacecraft to space from Florida, according to the FAA.
