On Tuesday, U.S. pharmacy chain CVS Pharmacy announced it will be restructuring the way it reimburses its pharmacies for prescription drugs through its new initiative, CVS CostVantage.
According to the company, this will trickle down into making overall prescription pricing simpler and more affordable to consumers.
“We are leading with an approach that will shift how our retail pharmacy is compensated by implementing a more transparent and sustainable model that fairly aligns pharmacy reimbursement to the quality services we provide,” said CVS Pharmacy President Prem Shah.
CVS CostVantage is slated to launch for commercial payers in 2025.
