This summer’s ‘Barbie’ box office phenomenon has trickled down into sales for Mattel’s Barbie toyline, said market research firm Circana.
Barbie toy sales reportedly shot up 25% year-over-year during July and August, the same time frame ‘Barbie’ dominated international theaters.
Mattel’s signature toy line also took the top spot for dollar-growth brand and property in the doll retail sector during this same period, according to Circana’s data.
Barbie also nabbed six out of 10 top-selling doll items during July and August.
