“Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom,” the final installment of the current era of DC Comics’ superhero multiverse, debuted at the top of the domestic box office its opening weekend.
The Jason Mamoa-led flick pulled in $13.7 million on its opening day and is expected to bring in a total of $43 million across the four-day Christmas weekend.
However, this still marked a significant drop from the debut Aquaman movie, which brought in $72 million during its initial four-day run.
DC Comics is slated to push a hard reset on its superhero franchise following the conclusion of Aquaman 2’s theatrical stint.
