U.S. retail chain Macy’s has chosen Olivier Bron, a French-born executive, as the company’s new CEO, Macy’s announced Tuesday.
Bron, who previously headed Thailand’s Central and Robinson department stores and acted as COO at Paris-based retail group Galeries Lafayette, is expected to bring an international touch to the retail chain.
The Frenchman will succeed Tony Spring, who was tapped CEO-elect of Macy’s parent company Macy’s, Inc. last March, in the leadership role.
Bron is expected to begin his position as Macy’s new CEO in November.
