Media empire Disney will soon have full control of streaming service Hulu after acquiring the remaining one-third share from cable company Comcast, Disney announced Wednesday.
Disney reportedly purchased the shares from Comcast for an expected $8.6 billion.
“The acquisition of Comcast’s stake in Hulu at fair market value will further Disney’s streaming objectives,” Disney said in a statement.
The deal, which is pending appraisal, is expected to go through in 2024.
